Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, moves from coast to coast and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as working in the nursery to ushering, to preparing the Wednesday night supper before Discipleship class.
Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Every Wednesday we meet as a body of believers and pray for our church body, regardless of the need, our community, our country and our world. Join us at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall and get involved with the greatest tool we have in our battle with Spiritual warfare. If you have questions, contact Pastor Jim
Mission Outreach
Each year, teams from our church travel to one of four places; Local, Regional, National and Foreign, modeled after the Acts 1:8 principal in the Bible.
Our Deacon ministry heads up missions in our local community thru FBC projects and the Baptist Men quarterly Projects. The yearly events of our “Thanksgiving Day Community Meal” and OIAM “Operation In As Much” as well as “My Fathers House”, a bi-annual ministry to the homeless of Cabarrus County are all filled with individuals from our church that seek to do Gods will thru service to His people. If interested in serving here contact the church office for the Deacon in charge of these ministries,
FBC is thrilled to be part of the spreading of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending short term missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We send people from our church body to assist other long term missionaries in practical projects and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they go to a foreign country or travel across town. If interested in serving in short term missions contact Alex Hamilton at
Hospitality
Hospitality or the gift of Helps as the Bible calls it, is a valuable gift to the body of Christ. FBC has a many outlets and avenues to express these gifts. The kitchen committee, made up of 4 rotating teams cooks every Wednesday night before our church family supper. The Bereavement team provides a meal after the funeral for the families who have lost loved ones. The CARE team meets every Thursday to mail out bulletins and birthday cards to our sick and home bound. If interested in serving here contact our church office or email at
Visitation
The Hospital team shows the love of Christ as they meet with people and care for their needs and sometimes, just sit and listen to stories from days gone by. If interested in serving here contact Tom Anderson at
Nursery Ministry
Almost everyone has had babies and children and at some time have enjoyed the quietness of the service as someone watched and took care of their child. Our Nursery staff takes great care of our bed babies, toddlers and 2&3year olds. They love God and they love taking care of His little ones. Each individual submits to a back ground check and new members are asked to wait 6 months before becoming involved in the nursery ministry. If interested in serving here contact Joan Swaringen at
Music & Worship
God-honoring Christ centered worship is what we strive for. Many church members are involved in our music ministry. Some play instruments, Handbells, and some are vocalists and others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. If interested in serving here contact Howard Joye at
Ushers
The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men whose ministry is integral to church life. If interested in serving here contact Jimmy Greene at
Security Team
Our security team is diligent in doing one thing, securing the premises. Each Sunday a different team that rotates monthly, oversees the hallways and locking doors, to ensure we have a smooth running day. They each take a different area of the church, walk and talk with the people they meet, and turn a valuable service into a time of fellowship too. If interested in serving here contact Jim Price at
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. Each week the sermon is copied to DVD to be sent out to our homebound and for people who request copies for friends, family or to be given to people with evangelism in mind. Our Women’s Enrichment also maintain an active Facebook account while a Twitter feed is maintained with our Youth for additional church communication.
