How Do I Meet People?

Our church is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn and grow at this church.

Sunday School

Sunday School is one of the building blocks at FBC to meet people and get involved in our community. We meet at 9:45am on Sunday mornings and we have classes from 2 yr old’s to Senior Citizens classes. Each age group studies age appropriate material and there are many adult classes fitting all the needs of a varied ages of adults. A Nursery is available for bed babies – 3yr olds.

Small Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in member homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in the small group study.

Children’s Ministry/Kingdom Kidz

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. An age appropriate Worship is also offered for those between the ages of 4yrs-7yrs during the morning Worship.

Youth Ministry/Revolution Student Ministries

Revolution Student Ministries is about connecting our youth to Christ. Through Bible study, fellowship, ministry servant opportunities and just plain fun, we seek to open the Word of God and make it real to each person, where they are at. Between Bible fellowship on Sunday morning, Wednesday and Sunday Nights, there are plenty of times and places for your 6th grader -12th grader to get involved as a youth.

Single Adult Ministry

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships and a whole lot more decisions. The College group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college aged young adults between the ages of 18 and 25. These changes also allow for deeper relationships primarily with Jesus and His people. Its also a time to mentor younger students as we explore the bible in ways that just couldn’t be done in high school. Our goal each year is to spend time together as a group as we come home from college and take a few trips to change the scenery of the college life. We have an annual beach trip, mountain trip, unique events thru the spring and summer and our key event, PASSION in Atlanta Ga. in January every year. This time period is a launching platform for the rest of your life and growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ and His finished work on the cross is the place to grow from.

Women’s Groups:

HOPE – Women’s Ministry

Our mission is based on Hebrews 6:19, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

We offer a balance of spiritual growth activities such as Bible studies, caring ministries and fellowship to strengthen and support the women of FBC Concord.

Women On Mission Groups – Pauline Hughes Group & SHELLS Group

These Women On Mission (WOM) groups meet monthly in various homes to fellowship and work on projects that benefit local and foreign mission groups. Their ongoing ministry is a blessing to our global community as they serve groups like The Cabarrus Women’s Center, Baptist Sharing house, Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes and support our church sponsored foreign missions trips.

Young Hearts

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of First Baptist Church provides fellowship, day trips, refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction with other over 50 believers in Christ. They meet monthly on the third Thursday for lunch at the church for lunch and a bible study.

Baptist Men

The Baptist Men of FBC are a group of men that take their calling seriously. They work on construction projects around town and make themselves available to help other ministries in the church. They meet once a quarter for men’s breakfast on a Sunday morning where they fellowship and hear a brother’s testimony along with bible study. Currently they are Viewing a DVD study on the 7 Churches of Revelation.
