Meet the Staff

Rev. Jim Pittman

Senior Pastor

Pastor Jim grew up in Salisbury, NC. He is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute, NY; Tennessee Temple University and received his Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is currently working towards his Doctor of Ministry. Pastor Jim became pastor of First Baptist in November of 2007. He and his wife Dorothy have two girls.

Rev. Tom Anderson

Associate Pastor

Tom is the Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care and has been on staff at First Baptist Church since 1984. He has a B.A. from Auburn University, an M.Ed. from N.C. State University and an MDiv. from Southeastern Seminary. Tom is married to Connie and has two adult children Will and Emily.

Rev. Tim Barnes

Minister of Worship & Music

Tim began his ministry at First Baptist Church in August 2004. He has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Furman University in Greenville, SC and received a Masters of Divinity/Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he met and married his wife, Robin. They have been blessed with three children.

Mrs. Debbie Hammonds

Director of Children's Ministries

Prior to leading children and families as Children’s Director at FBC, Debbie served as a public school teacher in the Cabarrus County School System. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Elementary Education (K-6). Debbie is the wife of W. Steve Hammonds and the mother of Isaac Hammonds.

Brenda Ramsey

Financial Secretary

Brenda came to work at First Baptist Church in 1975 while the church was still located in downtown Concord on Spring Street. She grew up in Kannaolis where she has lived all her life, and attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC. Her favorite past time activities are taking care of her dog, working in the yard and feeding/watching the birds.

Leslie McKemie

Education Secretary

Leslie joined the staff at FBC in July 2008. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College and is a graduate of Life Christian University. Her hobbies include weight training, bowling and baking from her licensed home bakery. She resides in Richfield with her husband, Quintin. Between them, they have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.
